Join us for a collaborative workshop on sustainable fashion Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in 302 HUB. The event will begin with an exciting discussion about the importance of sustainability in the fashion world. Following, there will be time for crafting and socializing! Everyone will get a chance to make their own piece of jewelry using fun sustainable bead materials (seeds, wood, jasper, etc.) AND plant a Job’s Tears seedling so they can grow their own seed beads to make more jewelry in the future! This unique collaboration will unite two very different organizations who share a common goal: a more sustainable future!

The Student Farm is partnering with the Fashion Society at Penn State for this event, and it will be led by the society’s treasurer Gabi Leach, a Senior majoring in Environmental Science.

Sustainable fashion is the practice of creating and buying clothing and accessories in a way that is environmentally conscious and socially responsible. The entire lifecycle of a garment, from sourcing materials to the disposal of the product, should be considered to positively impact the environment. Learn more about how you can make a difference and incorporate sustainable fashion practices into your life in this upcoming workshop!
